Fall Friday...

I got my camera out today because I was planning on joining Alli in her photo Friday quest.  But then I started taking pictures and one thing led to another and I ended up with a few that document what a cozy fall day it is here at the Bluff.  This, here, is what I thrive on:  fires, cloudy days, babies in soft sweaters, kids laughing, fall decor, yummy candles burning.  I can't even begin to describe the contented joy that fills my heart this time of year.  Ahhh...

Snack...

Owen got a kick out of his after school snack the other day and requested that I put it on the blog. I love it that he enjoys looking back at the blog just as much as I do. Often in the evenings we will just sit on the couch together and look back at countless old blog posts. Now I just need to make myself finish putting into book form.  Problem is, it takes so stinking long!  But it's worth it, so I really should take the time...

I'm pretty sure I say this every year, but did you know I LOVE fall?  And I love this tradition!

This Baby...

I wish I was a writer, because then I might actually be able to express in words how much I absolutely adore this sweet baby boy.  I love every single one of my boys, and I know I cherished each of them as babies.  But it just so happens that this one is currently at the perfect baby stage and I just can't get enough.  He is so incredibly snuggly and sweet and he smells SO good!  And when I put him down for his nap or at bedtime, he turns his little head towards my chest and nuzzles in for a snuggle and pulls his taggie up to his face.  And then we just sit there and rock and sings songs, for what I wish could be hours but he's my third baby so it's usually only a few minutes.  But, oh, how I cherish those few minutes!  He doesn't crawl yet, so he's pretty easy to keep track of.  He absolutely adores his brothers and is very easily bored when they aren't around to keep him entertained.  He sleeps through the night.  He claps and squeals and is just an absolute delight!  Can we just push the pause button?  Because in a few short seconds he will be running all over the house and nuzzling into my neck for a snuggle will be the last thing on his mind.  Oh, how sweet and fleeting babyhood is.  And since I know it goes by in a heartbeat, I will cherish every precious second of it...

Fly...

The big boys got to spend the night with Grandma and Grandpa Saint on Friday and then spent the day with them Saturday while C.J., Ezra, and I went to a wedding in Leavenworth.  While there, the boys got to go for a ride in Grandpa's airplane.  This was Silas' first and Owen's second ride.  As you can tell from this darling shot I snagged from Grandma (thanks Sherrie!), they obviously loved their adventure!  I mean seriously, do you see the smiles on these faces? It's not every day a boy gets to fly a plane with his Grandpa (and Grandma!).  I'm sure this is a memory Owen and Silas will always treasure!

Fall Morning...

This morning Alli and I met at the Big Giant Park for a walk.  These boys played while we walked and I snapped a few pictures with my phone.  I love fall!

Instagram..

I joined instagram this week.  Mostly because my old phone broke while we were in Italy and I was forced to get a new one.  And if you're going to get a new phone, why not get one that takes a decent picture, right?

P.S.  And after being on it for less than a week, I quit!  It was fun while it lasted but WAY too distracting for this Mama.  But at least I got a few cute pictures out of it!

Applesauce...

Last night I threw some apples and cinnamon in the crock pot, and this morning we woke up to warm homemade applesauce (a first at the Bluff).  And let me just say, Ezra LOVED it!  All the boys gobbled it up, but this little baby just couldn't get enough.  I typically have to tease his food into his mouth, but he was leaning forward open mouthed for each bite with this sweet goodness.  There is something about serving my children homemade goods that makes my heart really happy.  Kinda like serving them homemade bread.  It just feels right.
