Our afternoon...

This afternoon was one of those times when I couldn't be more thankful to be a stay at home mom. Owen actually took a nap (which is a rare occurrance) and Silas woke up from his nap in a really sweet mood, so I get to spend some precious one-on-one time with my youngest boy. Since it was raining out, I decided to make some molasses crinkles to make the house smell warm and cozy. Silas helped me bake the cookies for the first time...he even sat still on the counter as long as I kept feeding him bites of dough. He later opened the door to let himself outside. After a few minutes of it being a little too quiet, I took a peak outside to see that he had found himself a good mud puddle to play in. Man, I love having boys! We finally finished up the afternoon with a bath in the kitchen sink. Seriously, sometimes I just want to put life on pause and today was definitely one of those times.

P.S. You should know that I chose not to put a post up yesterday afternoon, one filled with lots of fit throwing, crying, and impatience from all of us.

Happy Birthday to our Sweet Four Year Old!

Today, our sweet little Owen is four. I can hardly believe it. He will always be my baby, even if his body isn't so baby-ish anymore. I love that boy more than I can express! We celebrated his birthday on Saturday with a fun-filled circus party. Daddy even dressed up like a clown and made balloon creations for the kids! (let's not forget to mention the fact that a few of the kids were a little scared by the clown...but hey, the adults got a kick out of him) Thank you to all of our friends and family that came to celebrate Owen's life. We are so blessed to have so many people in our lives that we truly love and cherish. Even though it was a bit crowded and, if we're totally honest, chaotic at times, there's no way we could have a party without every single one of you! I mean it when I say we cherish all of you, so thank you for coming!

Also, I definitely owe an apology to all of the parents who had to teach their children an unwanted lesson in death by sending home nearly dead Goldfish with all of you. It was a fun idea but was not very well thought out on my part. I promise I won't send any live animal home with you again!

Here are a few pictures for you to take a peak at the party:

A whole bunch on Eleven...

Yesterday was Ten on Ten. As you can tell, I didn't get around to posting anything yesterday. And since I'm a day late, I'm not going to limit it to ten. These were, however, all taken yesterday. You'll also be able to tell that we had some company over. I know, I'm breaking the rules...but these days I'm just thankful to get a post up when I can.

Kim, thanks again for coming. There are a few more in Picasa if you want them. They are in the "Spring" album.

A baby shower for Leah...

My dear sister-in-law is pregnant. And not only is she pregnant, but she is pregnant with a GIRL after 10 years of mothering 3 boys! Needless to say, we are all EXTREMELY excited. Yesterday we had a shower to celebrate the life of this precious little girl and it was such a special time. Leah, we are truly so excited for you to have a daughter. We pray that, above all else, God will guard her heart and create in her a deep longing for her Savior. She is, already, a sweet gift and a beautiful creation and we can't wait to meet her.

Here are a few pictures from the shower. Thank you to my mother-in-law for manning the camera while I had my hands full. And also, I'd just like to point out how incredibly beautiful Leah is pregnant.

Star Wars...

Yesterday we took Owen to the Star Wars exhibit at the Seattle Science Center. Owen has recently taken a liking to anything Star Wars, so this exhibit was definitely exciting! Thanks to the help of my mom and dad who watched Silas, we were able to go with just our oldest boy (and a few cousins/aunts/uncles) and let me tell you, it was such a treat. Here are a few pictures from our adventures:

And we even got to eat lunch at the top of the Space Needle, something Owen has been requesting for quite some time now. It was a fun day, for sure!
