Mr. and Mrs. Devine...

N.Y.C.

C.J. and I just returned from a wonderful weekend away in New York.  Our purpose for going was to see one of my best friends from college get married, but it was also nice to just get away and enjoy being together without any responsibilities.  While New York is not really our cup of tea, we did have a good time with each other and catching up with friends who we miss dearly.  And it also made us more thankful than ever for the wide open space and fresh air God has blessed us with at home!  While we were gone, the boys were treated to a weekend with my parents, Hilary's family, and Uncle Ryke.  We truly can't thank you all enough for keeping them, playing with them, entertaining them, and loving on them while we were gone.  It was a treat for all of us!  So here, have a few pictures from the city...

For you, Hil:

Five!

On May 23, our sweet little Owen turned five and I can hardly believe it!  Where on earth does the time go?  It seems like just a few months ago I saw my darling first born son for the first time and was overwhelmed with the joy of being a mother.  And now, here he is starting school in the fall.  Although I cry every time I think about my days of having him home with me all day every day coming to an end, I also have to say that it has been SUCH a joy to watch this boy grow, mature, and learn and I know he is more than ready for school.  Oh, how I am going to miss him, though!!!  We are so incredibly proud of who God has created this little boy to be!  But back to his birthday...

Since we took him to Disneyland earlier this spring, we didn't plan a big party this year.  Instead, we threw up a few decorations, ate a Star Wars cake, unwrapped some Star Wars presents, played at the park, and went to Red Robin for dinner.  And let me tell you, it was actually quite a fun birthday for all of us.  Also, since I didn't have a party for him, I took exactly 5 pictures of the day, none of which turned out very well.  But I figured I at least needed to document what he looked like on his 5th birthday.  So here he is, the birthday boy...

Seattle (a bit late)...

A few weeks ago, C.J. had to make a trip to India for work. While he was gone, the boys and I went to stay at my parent's house. I only got my camera out once, so you get to see just a few pictures from a morning at Golden Gardens. But, we did do a whole bunch of other stuff that I didn't manage to document in pictures. To summarize, we had fun playing with cousins, relaxing, walking to the park, and just enjoying being with Grandma and Grandpa. Thanks for having us!
