Fantastic...

Today was a good day. In the morning I got to go to Starbucks and enjoy some good conversation and good coffee with the ladies in my Bible study while Silas played at Alli's. Then, my husband came home for his lunch break and let me take a 30 minute nap while he was here. That was amazing! And to top the day off, the boys and I enjoyed the beautiful afternoon outside, complete with warm sunshine and water fun. As Silas was going down the water slide he exclaimed, "This is FANTASTIC!" I agree, buddy!

As I looked at these pictures, it kinda hit me how much our yard has matured since we've lived here. Hard to remember that just four years ago it looked like this:

Thank You, Temis!

We have a dear sweet friend in Germany, Temis, that is honestly one of the most generous people I have ever met! My parents have known her for well over 25 years, but I have only personally met her a few times, the last time being probably 15 years ago. And yet, Temis still sends incredibly generous gifts to the boys (and us) nearly every Christmas and at the birth of every baby born into this family (my sisters' kids included). Today, we received a package full of Swiss chocolates, meringues, and these darling hand knit booties for Ezra. This came in addition to a package we received a few weeks ago for Ezra that included an adorable baby outfit! Temis, I have no idea if you check this blog, but if you do I want you to know how incredibly much we appreciate your generosity! You have blessed us so much over the years! When our boys get a bit older, we might just send them your way for a few weeks. Thank you, Temis!

He is Risen!!!

We had an absolutely wonderful, relaxing day celebrating the miracle that our faith rests on: the Resurrection of our Savior, Jesus. It's hard to even fathom our Father's love and His sacrifice. But I know that my life would be nothing without Him, and the only reason I have hope is because He arose from the grave! I pray that my children will be able to accept, cherish, and grasp the immensity of God's love for them as they grow. For now, I will count the little blessings that show me God is making Himself real in their lives. Like when Silas comes down the stairs on Easter morning, sees his Easter basket full of candy and toys, and the only thing he grabs out of it is the paper cross with his name on it. So yes, we had a beautiful day celebrating Easter. A day full of sunshine, smiles, happy boys, good conversation, and delicious food (especially the cinnamon rolls!) Sorry we ate them all, Al.
