Joy...

Radio Flyer...

Silas discovered an exciting toy this morning while we were out on the front porch watching Owen and Daddy mow the pasture (or more accurately, weeds). I'm pretty sure he'll have even more fun when he can actually ride it:

Can you tell they're brothers?

I normally don't think that Owen and Silas look that much alike. However, there are a few pictures I have taken of Silas lately that have reminded me an awful lot of old ones I have of Owen. I'll show you a couple so you can judge for yourself. Silas is on the left, Owen on the right:

I think their expressions, specifically in the mouth, look similar here:

And I am going to venture to say that if you didn't know them, you might think they are the same baby here:

What do you think?

Told ya...

Remember a while back when I mentioned that it was hard for me to turn pictures of Silas into black and white? Yeah, that was before Alli taught me how to use my camera a bit. Today she gave me a little lesson in aperture and such. Honestly, I don't know a darn thing about my camera besides shooting in the automatic modes. If I did, I think photography could get really addicting. Just her little pointers have helped tremendously (well, that and Pioneer Woman's black and white actions). So in case you haven't seen enough of our baby lately, here are a few more. And since he is the only person around who will stay in the same room for more than 3 seconds, you'll probably be seeing more of him as I practice with my camera a bit more.

Just one...

Don't worry. There's more to come.

The Babe: An Update

Just for the record, here are a few tidbits about this sweet little fella lately:

...he is now crawling, although it's still in the early stages
...sleeps through the night
...has his two front teeth on the top and bottom
...eats anything he can get his hands on
...enjoys dancing (you should see his moves...they're adorable)
...does the little "blub blub blub" trick where you wiggle your fingers on your mouth while making noise, except he kinda does a backwards wave on his lips to make them vibrate
...loves his big brother
...hates when Mama walks by and doesn't pick him up
...nuzzles into your neck for a giant snuggle when you DO pick him up
...and is now a whopping 7 1/2 months old! I don't really like to admit that. What happened to my newborn?

P.S. If there was one single word I would use to describe this precious boy, it would be "sweet."

More of the house...

The Kitchen. I know I posted pics of the kitchen shortly after we moved in, but that was before we had our dining table...which means there was a big gaping hole where the breakfast table should have been in the previous pics because it was temporarily being used as the dining table. So, I'm posting new ones since it's now completed.

P.S. My sister introduced me to the exposure compensation button on my camera a while ago, but this was my first attempt using it. Yeah, should have done that a LONG time ago. Makes a big difference. Thanks, Al.
